Aldo The Agile

UPDATES:

November 19, 2023: We moved Aldo's cat tree upstairs to his double window so we can have move space and put our Christmas tree up. I was thinking about retiring the cat tree but then my boyfriend had the idea to put it upstairs and Aldo LOVES it, he likes zooming up to the top even though he's just a little too big so it shakes.

October 29, 2023: Aldo stole this piece of lettuce out of the paper bag from grocery shopping. He also caught a mouse by staying posted at his entry hole, didn't know what to do with it when he caught it.

Aldo was born September 5, 2022 outside in my back yard to "Scrappy". Scrappy is another outside cat who had previously had a litter and when only one survived which we later named her "Tiny". Scrappy later had another litter and tried to move them which is when we found Aldo and his siblings.

From day one we knew he was going to be our cat because whenever we would come to the first floor to visit he was the first kitten to adventure out and come see us. He is our adventure kitten!

We should've also known that he was going to be a handful when he was scrappin with his siblings. Also, I'm pretty sure his cat dad was a Russian blue like my parents cat, Nimbus because of all four kittens, two were black like scrappy and two were gray like a Russian blue.

Then, my mom told me he was sick and I told my landlord's wife "I'm taking the cat tonight" she had told me to ask Johnny when he got home from work but I said no and had my mom drive me to the supermarket to go ask about the cat. Martha, the wife made me write a little contract thing with a signature so she knew I wasn't lying. So we went to the store and ask Johnny and he was like "of course you can take the cat" and he laughed about the fact that he had to sign the paper. That was the night we saved our boy.

He was definitely sick like mom had said so the day after, we took him to an emergency clinic to get him looked at. Turned out he had an upper raspatory infection.

Just about one pound!

Of course with a little bit of time and medicine our little country blumpkin got better and grew into his personality

We all know cats need like 16 hours of sleep and just because Aldo is a little crazy, that doesn't stop him from doing what he does best. Here are some of his best sleeping positions.

After all that sleep he needs to get it out somehow and that's where the race car ears come in.

This is the picture that we realized he looks like a bat.

When he's not sleeping or being a gremlin he's being a cute little kitten.

Then we found him a primary vet clinic which basically scarred him for life. They threw a towel over him and now when he sees anyone that isn't one of his family at the vet, he hisses and grumbles at them.

Aldo loves his parents, he can never spend too much time away. It's like having a toddler, you may never use the bathroom in peace again.

And then Christmas happened and Aldo got new toys to add onto his crazy personality.

We taught him about the outside!

Lovely + Weird pictures
